We’re excited to officially welcome Steve Dockerill to Construct1 as our new Construction Director.
A career built from the ground up
Steve’s journey in construction spans nearly four decades — beginning as an apprentice carpenter and joiner, progressing to Site Manager, Project Manager, and then Senior Project Manager. His time with ISG Retail Limited saw him working across the UK on fast-paced refurbishments, new builds, and framework delivery.

Experience that speaks for itself
Steve’s portfolio includes:
- Multiple projects for Cambridge University, including laboratories, lecture theatres, and specialist education spaces
- Projects in retail and food retail, including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, and John Lewis
- Hotel schemes including Premier Inn
- Refurbishment, fast-track fit-out, and new build construction
His role has covered everything from programme forecasting to cost control, contract management, and team leadership — skills that align perfectly with Construct1’s values of quality, accountability, and collaboration.

Outside of work
When Steve isn’t delivering major construction projects, you’ll find him:
